I was very fortunate to be a student of Bob's for over 10 years starting in high school. He was an amazingly brilliant, warm and generous person who I miss tremendously. His genius was beyond anything I've encountered and I've been lucky enough to have known some of the greatest artists of our time. Bob created a celestial world in that great light laboratory and consciousness experiment he called his home and his late works have no equal on this planet. Bob's love, friendship and generosity will always be in my heart. Many fantastic hours were spent in his "kitchen" and I am lucky enough to own the painted ceiling panels that were rescued the day before his house was gutted for renovation. I also have the painted rainbow tape reel that played the endless Mozart while I studied with him in his all- white upstairs painting studio that had that gorgeous view of Boston lighthouse. I'll never forget the painted Jesus statue at the bottom of the stairs, the secret mirror system that viewed the front and back door simultaneously from his upstairs, his dogs Gus and Ringo and the gazillion cats or the incredible moments spent when Jack Condon came down from Vermont. His dining room with the colored widow lenses and mirrors with the silver Christmas ornaments in the cut glass bowl presented as some psychedelic, alien fruit was just amazing. Bob you are still the greatest and I love and miss you deeply. Happy day and thanks!

I was very fortunate to have had the experience(and that's exactly what it was,an Experience!)of being a friend of Bob Bliss's at such a young and formitve age,I believe there are many more as myself who would share the same feelings.....Great friend, great artist, with great passion for both!Miss him big time, just like Hendrix and Morrison,we got it all in the span 0f 10-15 years rather than a lifetime...........

I was friends with Bob Bliss and miss him deeply. I met him in the 1970s and lived in his house for 2 summers. This man had a positive influence on so many people and it wasn't just his art. It was his generosity, open mindedness, kindness, wisdom and so much more. Anyone who knew him truly, remembers him more for who he was rather then the increadable art he created. After his death, I visited his mother often and took her on errands as she had no family left. She told me many stories of Bob's life. Bob had an increadable life. It's a shame it was so short.
